Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“Ok” LINE) and Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat firm, are happy to announce that “Ok” LINE will conduct a trial of Inmarsat Maritime’s new bonded community service NexusWave on “Ok” LINE’s fleet. NexusWave seamlessly integrates a number of high-speed networks in actual time to allow high-speed, always-on ship-to-shore communications, thereby enhancing digitalization of ship operation and environmental response, in addition to the welfare of seafarers.
The implementation of those trials will begin this month.
Launched in Could this 12 months, NexusWave is a novel bonded multi-dimensional community, designed to supply high-speed connectivity, limitless knowledge, international protection, and ‘safe by design’ infrastructure for office-like and home-like experiences. The service integrates globally dependable World Xpress (GX) Ka-band, low-Earth orbit (LEO) providers, and as-available coastal LTE service – enhanced by an L-band layer for resiliency, to ship quick, always-on connectivity.
