The ships are being built at the Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore &#038; Engineering Co. Ltd. shipyard in China and will be owned by a joint venture between Navigator Gas (NYSE: NVGS) and Norway based Amon Maritime. The order was booked by W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 in Q1 2026.<\/p>\n<p>As the shipping industry transitions to decarbonising operations, ammonia is emerging as a carbon free alternative marine fuel. The W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 systems are designed to operate with ammonia for both the ships\u2019 two-stroke and four-stroke engines, enabling these two vessels to operate with dual-fuel engines capable of running with ammonia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cW\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 Gas Solutions is a market leader in cargo handling and fuel gas supply systems for medium sized gas carrier vessels.
