ADNOC L&S Takes Delivery of Sixth Next-Generation LNG Carrier, Strengthening Global Energy Flows<\/p>\n
ADNOC Logistics & Services plc has taken delivery of its sixth 175,000 m\u00b3 new-build LNG carrier from Jiangnan Shipyard in China. The addition of this vessel further strengthens ADNOC L&S\u2019 role in enabling the reliable movement of energy across global markets. The vessel is part of a $1.2\u202fbillion LNG fleet order placed in 2022, supporting the expansion and modernisation of the company\u2019s fleet to meet global market demand with enhanced efficiency.<\/p>\n

A single 175,000\u202fm\u00b3 LNG shipment contains approximately 1.1\u202fTWh of energy, equivalent to the typical winter gas demand of around 100,000 households in Central Europe. LNG is a key component of supply resilience, supporting system balance during periods of peak demand.<\/p>\n
ADNOC L&S has committed the majority of the additional LNG capacity under long-term contracts with third-party customers and ADNOC Group companies. Overall, some 60% of the revenue of ADNOC L&S and its AW Shipping joint venture is secured through long-term contracts. This prudent commercial strategy ensures that additional capacity translates into top-line revenue growth and an enhanced earnings profile. The expansion of the company\u2019s shipping capacity is aligned with the Group\u2019s overall growth, supporting its downstream operations while reinforcing the UAE\u2019s role in the global energy supply chain.<\/p>\n
Ms. Muna Mussa, Manager of General Services at\u00a0ADNOC L&S, acted as \u2018godmother\u2019 in the naming ceremony of Al Taweelah, which means \u201cthe long one\u201d in Arabic. The ceremony was held at Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai.<\/p>\n
Equipped with advanced energy-efficient technologies, the new 175,000 m\u00b3 LNG vessels are designed to reduce methane emissions by up to 50% compared to older-generation technology. These features reinforce ADNOC L&S\u2019 commitment to operational efficiency, emissions reduction, improved cost performance and responsible energy transport.<\/p>\n
ADNOC L&S continues to expand its global fleet to support customer demand for the reliable movement of energy and essential commodities. In addition to the six LNG carriers already delivered, the company has a strong pipeline of vessels under construction, including seven Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs) and four Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) from a $1.9\u202fbillion order placed in 2024 by AW Shipping, a joint venture with Wanhua Chemical Group. In the same year, ADNOC L&S also ordered eight LNG carriers for approximately $2.5\u202fbillion from Samsung Heavy Industries and Hanwha Ocean, reinforcing its international growth trajectory.<\/p>\n
