GE Vernova and Drydocks World Secure Contract for Germany’s First 525kV HVDC Offshore Wind Project

Positioned 30 kilometers northeast of Rügen Island, the undertaking consists of the development of offshore and onshore converter stations and a 110-kilometre DC cable system linking land and sea.

Drydocks World will handle the engineering, procurement, building, and set up of the wind power converter stations’ topsides and jacket buildings. As soon as accomplished, the platform shall be transported and put in in German waters.

GE Vernova will provide the HVDC know-how, together with voltage-sourced converters (VSC), transformers, SF6-free fuel insulated switchgear, civil works for the onshore converter station, and grid automation tools.
