The Energeo Alliance (previously IAGC) has printed a security alert referring to a crew member who suffered a laceration to the fitting index finger whereas going by a vessel door, experiences IMCA.

What occurred

The employee was coming into a workshop container situated on deck. They opened the door with their proper hand and stepped inside holding the door with their proper hand to shut it behind him. Because the door closed, the wind and the motion of the vessel mixed to trigger the door to shut extra shortly than anticipated. The injured individual’s proper index finger obtained caught between the door edge and the door body, inflicting a laceration to the fitting index finger.
