NAPA Extends Fishery Improvement Projects to 2026, Urges Coastal States to Collaborate

NAPA, a world coalition of over 50 retailers and provide chain companies, launched its FIPs in 2021. The intention is to drive consensus between fishery managers on a number of the most vital fisheries within the North East Atlantic, reminiscent of mackerel, blue whiting, and Atlanto-Scandian herring.

Initially concluding in 2024, the tasks have now been prolonged to 2026, providing what NAPA says is a closing alternative for coastal states to safe equitable sharing agreements to halt fishing above scientific pointers and guarantee long-term environmental and enterprise safety.
