The Port of Oakland is celebrating the enlargement of the Oakland Alameda Water Shuttle, a free pilot program initiated by the Metropolis of Alameda, providing public water transit between Oakland’s Jack London Sq. and Bohol Circle Immigrant Park, on the foot of fifth Avenue in Alameda. As of July eighth, the service now consists of Tuesdays and prolonged weekend hours—growing whole weekly journeys by 35%.
Initiated by the Metropolis of Alameda and partially funded by the Port, the shuttle operates Tuesday by means of Thursday from 7:20 a.m. to eight:03 p.m., and extends service Friday by means of Sunday from 7:20 a.m. to 10:16 p.m. Every vessel accommodates 31 passengers and 14 bicycles, and all rides are wheelchair accessible and freed from cost.
