ROKN Commissions New Jeongjo the Great Destroyer from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries

ROKS Jeongjo the Nice, which was commissioned into ROKN service that very same day, is the primary unit of three ships beneath Batch II of the ROKN’s KDX-III or Sejong the Nice-class destroyers. This makes it the fourth vessel general within the Sejong the Nice-class.

As with its KDX-III Batch II sisters, Jeongjo the Nice has a size of 170 metres, a beam of 21 metres, a displacement of 8,200 tonnes, a most pace of 30 knots, and armament consisting of a 127mm naval gun, surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship missiles, land assault cruise missiles, and torpedoes. Set up of the Aegis Fight System will allow the ship to efficiently intercept ballistic missiles.
