Lloyd’s Register (LR) has granted Approval in Precept (AiP) to Rondal for its Aero Wing Sail, following completion of concept-level evaluation actions in keeping with LR’s Steering Notes on Wind Assisted Propulsion Methods (2025). The AiP was awarded in a ceremony at Metstrade 2025 in Amsterdam.

The Aero Wing Sail is a inflexible wing-sail idea designed for utility on massive yachts and multihull platforms to supply wind-assisted propulsion functionality and ease of integration inside vessel layouts.

The AiP confirms that the Aero Wing Sail idea has been reviewed in opposition to related security, structural, mechanical, and aerodynamic concerns. The analysis included Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) evaluation, structural design evaluate and mechanical system analysis to determine operational and integration-related dangers. LR additionally offered suggestions for additional refinement of the idea.
