Philippines to protest Chinese harassment of fisherfolk near shoal

The Philippines mentioned it was alarmed by the actions of China’s Coast Guard, saying the usage of water cannons and harmful manoeuvres that trigger harm and injury, “can’t be justified”.

“The Philippines will undertake the suitable diplomatic response and register its robust objection to those actions and demand that China stop such aggressive acts,” the Philippines’ maritime council mentioned in an announcement.

Presidential press officer Claire Castro informed reporters that the Philippines will file a demarche to the Chinese language embassy on Monday, citing data from the international minister.
