
Offshore drilling contractor Transocean has issued its quarterly Fleet Standing Report detailing contract updates for its offshore drilling rigs.
The report reveals an incremental backlog of roughly $656 million through the quarter and a complete backlog of $8.8 billion as of July 24, 2024.
A number of new contracts have been awarded with dayrates exceeding $500,000, reflecting the development of upper dayrates within the offshore drilling market.
Notable contracts embody Deepwater Atlas within the U.S. Gulf of Mexico a dayrate of $580,00, together with contingencies as much as $650,000, Deepwater Asgard with a 365-day extension at $515,000, and Transocean Norge in Norway at $517,000. Different contracts embody extensions and choices for Deepwater Invictus, Transocean Spitsbergen, Transocean Endurance, and Deepwater Mykonos.
