UKD Seadragon – UK Dredging welcomes new water injection dredger into service

UKD Seadragon has an LOA of 27.05 metres (88.75 toes), a beam of 11.6 metres (38.1 toes), a most draught of solely 2.55 metres (8.37 toes), a depth of 4.25 metres (13.9 toes), a gross tonnage of 321, and an open aft deck with a complete space of 75 sq. metres (810 sq. toes).

The WID incorporates a diesel-electric propulsion system fed by three impartial turbines, which permits it to function on a single engine to enhance gasoline effectivity. The turbines drive two water-cooled, everlasting magnet motors that every produce 750 kW at 1,600 rpm to ship a service pace of 9.5 knots and a bollard pull of 25 tonnes.

A 145kW bow thruster in the meantime supplies extra lateral manoeuvrability.
