Aster Chemicals invests $125m in Singapore refinery infrastructure

Since early 2023, the refinery has been unable to obtain crude immediately from very giant crude carriers (VLCC). As an alternative, the VLCCs carried out ship-to-ship transfers with smaller tankers which then discharged the oil on the refinery, Kpler shiptracking knowledge confirmed.

Shell carried out prolonged repairs at this transport facility in mid-2023, Reuters reported.
