WASHINGTON, Aug 31 (Reuters) – The US on Saturday condemned “harmful and escalatory” actions by China in opposition to what it referred to as lawful Philippine maritime operations within the South China Sea, the State Division stated in a press release.
“A China Coast Guard vessel intentionally collided thrice with a Philippine Coast Guard vessel exercising its freedom of navigation within the Philippines’ unique financial zone (EEZ), inflicting harm to the vessel and jeopardizing the protection of the crew onboard,” spokesman Matthew Miller stated.
The assertion stated it was the most recent in a collection of harmful and escalatory actions by China within the space all through August.
