Trump’s administration is pushing to move fuel from Alaska’s distant north to Asian shoppers.
Trump has pitched Alaska LNG, a proposed $44 billion challenge to ship liquefied pure fuel alongside a 800-mile (1,287-kilometre) pipeline from Alaska, to Asian consumers as a strategy to scale back their dependence on Russian LNG.
One other challenge, equally aimed toward Asian markets, is Qilak LNG, which is concentrating on 4 million tons every year of LNG.
