As with its earlier sisters, the long run Earl Cunningham has a size of 154 ft (46.9 metres), a flank pace of 28 knots, a cutting-edge C4ISR suite, and a stern launch and restoration ramp for a 26-foot (7.92-metre), over-the-horizon interceptor cutter boat. Armament features a 25mm autocannon and 4 12.7mm machine weapons.
The Sentinel-class cutters are designed for a number of missions together with drug and migrant interdiction, ports, waterways and coastal safety, fishery patrols, and search and rescue (SAR).
