VESSEL REVIEW | Lena Quinn – Irish owner acquires mussel harvesting catamaran

Household-owned Mulroy Bay Mussels of County Donegal in Eire just lately welcomed a brand new harvesting boat into service. Lena Quinn was constructed by Donegal-based firm Seabound Engineering to a design developed by neighbouring naval structure agency Atlantek Maritime in shut session with Mulroy Bay Mussels co-owner Johnny Wilhare.

The newbuild has all-aluminium development, a size of 16 metres (52 ft), a beam of 6.8 metres (22 ft), a draught of solely 0.5 metre (1.6 ft), and a crew of 4. The vessel adopts a double-chined displacement catamaran design whereas the wheelhouse is positioned aft to supply 84 sq. metres (900 sq. ft) of working deck house.
