Vietnam Sends Coast Guard Ship To Philippines For Joint Training

(Bloomberg) —Vietnam stated it has despatched a coast guard delegation to the Philippines for joint coaching between the 2 Southeast Asian nations.

“That is the primary time the Vietnam Coast Guard has organized a ship to go to” the Philippines, Vietnam’s ministry of protection stated on its web site. Vessel CSB 8002’s journey is aimed toward bettering the 2 nations’ maritime legislation enforcement capability and coordination in rescue and hearth prevention, it stated.

Each nations have been locked in a territorial dispute with China over parts of the South China Sea. In June, Vietnam supplied to carry talks with the Philippines about overlapping territorial claims.

Philippine and Japan navies held their first bilateral drills within the contested waters, the Southeast Asian nation’s army stated in a press release Friday.
