so many people ask when they hear the Instagram tag or they see the #MaerskBear hashtag being used. in the shortest explanation, Maerskbear was a teddy that I used to take away to sea with me. I used to take photos of him in various locations, doing various jobs, and post them to Instagram.
The idea behind MaerskBear was to close a gap, to connect sea and shore together. so much of the job at sea is mysterious to people on land. but without sea we wouldn’t be able to have the foods, electronics, or gifts that we rely on day to day.
For me, the MaerskBear did everything it was intended to do. It promoted seafaring it connected the Sea 2 shore and it uplifted everyone that it crossed. everyone would come up with new ideas for photos to take or to show it to visitors onboard.
