Green Instruments secures significant growth and sets course for further progress
Green Instruments exceeds its own expectations and emerges stronger in 2025 with significant growth in both gross profit and earnings. The positive development is mainly due to increased demand for innovative products and solutions that can make shipping greener.
Stricter environmental and safety requirements for international shipping are increasing the need for precise measurements and documentation of emissions such as greenhouse gas emissions from ships. This is having an impact on the Danish company Green Instruments, which specialises in technology for emission control, water and gas monitoring, hazard detection and energy optimisation for the shipping industry.
Green Instruments has just presented its annual report for 2025 with significant growth in both gross profit and earnings. Gross profit increased to DKK 107 million compared to DKK 87.8 million in 2024, which corresponds to an increase of 22 per cent. At the same time, earnings grew to DKK 52.1 million – an increase of 58 per cent compared to the previous year, when earnings were DKK 33 million. Over the past four years, gross profits have increased by 64 per cent, while earnings have increased by 167 per cent.
“We are pleased with the significant progress in 2025 and have exceeded our expectations. We have managed to strengthen our sales of quality products to the international shipping industry, as there is a growing awareness that it is important to measure your emissions of, for example, CO2 and methane rather than settling for uncertain calculations. In addition, we have entered into a number of sensible service agreements with customers,” says CEO Rene Bredmose Christensen from Green Instruments and continues:
“We are also experiencing increasing demand from customers who have previously used non-original parts where the systems have subsequently failed. This has resulted in significant costs for ship owners. As a result, these customers are now opting for original spare parts because they realise that they offer greater reliability, increased quality and better long-term economy.”
Strong global position and growing demand
Green Instruments is experiencing high activity across markets – in particular, demand for the company’s solutions is increasing in Europe and Asia. Among other things, Green Instruments is strongly positioned for success in international growth markets because the company has its own setup with employees in China and Singapore, among other places.
This growth is fuelled not least by stricter environmental and safety requirements for global shipping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the coming years. This increases the need for precise measurements and documentation that gives shipping companies an overview of where they can take action to comply with the requirements. Green Instruments has many years of experience in developing technological solutions that can contribute to greener shipping, and the industry has become more aware of this.
As a result, the company is increasingly being invited to speak at conferences, underlining its role as a knowledge centre in emissions measurement and maritime technology.
Innovation and competences drive growth
A key explanation for the growth is Green Instruments’ focus on innovation and strong internal competences.
– We have placed great emphasis on research and development activities to ensure that our customers continue to receive the most innovative and competitive products and solutions. Our focus on being at the forefront of product development and service through strategic investments in the latest technologies ensures that we can lead our industry and maintain our reputation for delivering the highest quality solutions to our customers,” says Rene Bredmose Christensen.
All expertise is managed in-house at Green Instruments, which has staff at locations in Denmark, the US and China, and Rene Bredmose Christensen emphasises that the company’s highly specialised staff are the main reason for its success.
Although the maritime industry is characterised by uncertainty and change, Green Instruments is optimistic about the future. With a clear strategy, strong market position and increasing global demand, the company believes there is growth potential in the coming years.
