Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG) will exhibit at “Posidonia 2026”, an international maritime exhibition held in Athens, Greece, from June 1st to June 5th, 2026.
As the decarbonization of international shipping shifts to the social implementation phase, J-ENG is steadily promoting its efforts as a First Mover towards carbon neutrality by 2050 through the practical application of next-generation fuel engines in marine low-speed two-stroke “UE engines”.
As part of this challenge, J-ENG completed the world’s first ammonia-fueled full-scale engine “7UEC50LSJA-HPSCR” in August 2025, and an ammonia carrier equipped with this engine is scheduled to launch in November 2026. In addition, in March 2026, we have started hydrogen co-firing operation for all-cylinder on the hydrogen-fueled full-scale engine “6UEC35LSGH”.
Furthermore, we have also started development of the “UEC60LSJA”, which will be next model for series of

M
easuring the impact of maritime digitalisation has unique challenges. Assets are constantly on the move and most seagoing personnel are accustomed to managing operations remotely at shipboard level. But this is changing – fast.
Increasing digitalisation will be familiar to all those working in maritime, but how can we measure the impact? At the recent Smart Maritime Network event in Athens, a panel of experts moderated by LR’s Eleanna Apostolidi, Global Head of Client Enablement, addressed some of the key issues.
Speaking were Klavdia Chatzikonstantinou, Project Management Office Manager at Chandris Hellas Inc; Nikolaos Tsoulakos, Innovation and Technology Manager at Laskaridis Shipping; and Theodoros Tserpelis, TMS Group’s Digital Transformation Planning Manager.
Setting the scene, LR’s Apostolidi flagged the ‘golden triangle’ of People, Process, Technology as essential components in shipping’s digital

In its latest weekly report, shipbroker Intermodal said that “Brazilian soybean exports to China have recovered from the March inspection disruption, but the episode has left more scrutiny around Panamax and Kamsarmax fixtures. Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership and bareboat charter-in of dry bulk vessels that is the largest shareholder of Genco Shipping & Trading Limited GNK (“Genco”), today cautioned that Genco’s current share price appears to be artificially inflated by Diana’s $23.50 per share cash offer, and that, without Diana’s offer, Genco’s share price could return to the persistent discount to NAV at which it has historically traded.
Genco’s net asset value (“NAV”) as of March 31, 2026, based on vesselsvalue.com, is approximately $25.40 per share, which excludes adjustments of at least $0.80 per share for change in control costs, including the cost of accelerated equity implemented by Genco’s Board. Genco’s stock is currently trading around that level with the support of Diana’s offer. Genco’s stock has traded at an average 30% discount to NAV since 20201; if Di
